CES 2012: Motorola Droid Razr Maxx Boasts 21-Hour Battery (Mobiledia)
Motorola's Droid Razr Maxx, being released for Verizon Wireless for $300 with
a two-year contract in upcoming months, provides 21 hours' use on a single
battery charge, the company announced today at CES.
The Maxx modifies the Droid Razr Motorola just launched in November. It is
slightly thicker than the Razr because of the new 3,300 mAh battery, but
buyers might not mind the trade-off in exchange for longer talk time.
The phone's other specs will remain the same, including a 1.2-gigahertz dual
core-processor, a 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a
1080-pixel front-facing camera and 32-gigabytes of storage. It runs on Android
Gingerbread 2.3, but will update to Android 4.0 soon.
Verizon's 4G LTE network may drain the Maxx' battery some, but Jeff Hadden,
senior product marketing manager for Motorola, said the phone can still stream
more than six hours of video with LTE, double the time of the Samsung Galaxy
Nexus.
The increased battery life in the Maxx may also give Apple's iPhone 4S some
competition. Hadden said the phone, when used on Verizon's 3G network, gets
nearly twice as much streaming time compared to the 4S.
